PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lightweight mortal excellent in workability, free from the problem about working life and prevented from the generation of crack by mixing a granulated fired material consisting essentially of a specific glass powder with a calcareous raw material in the quantity of a specified range. SOLUTION: The lightweight mortal is obtained by mixing 4-50 pts.wt. granulated fired material having <=1.2mm particle diameter, 0.1-0.5kg/l weight per unit volume and <=10wt.% aggregate water absorptivity and consisting essentially of the glass powder to 100 pts.wt. calcareous raw material. Since the aggregate water absorptivity of the glass waste foamed material is controlled to <=10wt.%, the quantity of water to be added at the time of manufacturing the lightweight mortal having a viscosity suitable for coating work is almost the same as that at the time of manufacturing a regular mortal and the performance of the mortal after hardened is not largely changed. Though the conventional mortal using a lightweight aggregate is large in water absorption and has problems such as freezing damage and the generation of crack, the lightweight mortal is small in water absorption, improved in troweling workability and has sufficient working life. |
