PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high grade gradation printing without lowering the printing efficiency in relation to time for printing by controlling the diameter of a recording dot variably on a recording paper. SOLUTION: A drive signal to be output per single printing cycle is composed of a first to a third pulse totaling three drive pulses. Each of the drive pulses is constituted of two waveform elements with a pulse top part splited into the pulse width direction (T1 and T2, T3 and T4, and T5 and T6). In addition to a drive pulse which is explicitly included in the drive signal, a new drive pulse formed of a linkage of waveform elements can be selected by forming print data of bit data corresponding to each of the waveform elements. Consequently, a multi-gradation printing can be performed by variably controlling the diameter of a recording dot on a recording paper through proper selection between a variety of a drive pulses. |
