<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piping inspecting instrument which permits accurate movement of a running body along the outer circumference of piping. SOLUTION: There are arranged a guide rail 12 to circumscribe piping 1 subjected to a non-destructive inspection, a running body 13 having a running wheel 15 rollable in the circumferential direction of the piping 1 in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the piping 1, a probe 6 mounted on the running body 13, a support chain 8 which is extended in the circumferential direction of the piping 1 while one end thereof is retained on one moving-wise end face of the running body 13 and a tension application means 9 to link the other end of the support chain 9 to the other moving-wise end face of the running body 13. The guide rail 12 is made of a material able to attract a magnet thereon, the running body 13 is provided with a magnet wheel 14 rollable in the circumferential direction thereof in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the guide rail 12 and the touching force of the running wheel 15 on the outer circumferential surface of the piping 1 is corrected by the attraction force of the magnet wheel 14 on the guide rail 12 thereby checking the idling of the running wheel 15.</p> |
