PHASE ANGLE CONTROLLER FOR REDUCING HARMONIC CURRENT AND FOR IMPROVING POWER FACTOR

PURPOSE: A phase angle controller is provided which reduces a harmonic current effectively generated while controlling a load input power in the prior phase controller and also improves a power factor, by inserting a simple inductor with a low cost. CONSTITUTION: The controller reduces a harmonic current generated while controlling a phase angle by connecting an inductor to a semiconductor switching device in parallel, and improves a power factor due to an invalid power reduction generated while controlling the phase angle by connecting the inductor to the semiconductor switching device in parallel. The inductor comprises an iron core coil and determines a parallel inductance according to a load capacity of a target whose phase angle is to be controlled.
