METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSTALLING CULVERTS

A method and apparatus for installing culverts. A first step involves providing a pipe having a driver receptacle at the second end. A second step involves aligning the pipe in preparation for subsurface installation. A third step involves providing a machine with an articulated arm and mounting a mechanized hammer having a male driver on the articulated arm. A fourth step involves inserting the male driver into the driver receptacle. A fifth step involves activating the mechanized hammer and driving the pipe through the soil. A sixth step involves removing the driver receptacle when the pipe is in a required subsurface position. A seventh step involves removing accumulated soil from the pipe in preparation for use as a culvert.
