PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running and driving gear for vehicles with the improved fuel consumption of engine. SOLUTION: The running and driving gear comprises a motor 1 for traveling supplied with power from a generator 12 coupled with an engine 11, an inverter 3 that is provided with a revolution speed-torque characteristic curve with the low revolution speed range set to constant torque, and a second revolution speed-torque characteristic curve, where the torque in the low revolution speed range is limited in inverse proportion to revolution speed and controls the torque of the motor 1 according to either characteristic curve, and a mode-of-operation switch 31 for inputting a mode of operation for flatland traveling. The running and driving gear is so constituted, that when the mode of operation for flatland traveling has been inputted through the switch 31, the gear selects the second revolution speed-torque characteristic curve and controls the torque of the motor 1 according to the angle of accelerator pedal operation. According to this constitution, the torque is limited, and load on the engine 11 is alleviated in the low revolution speed range. |
