PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of breakage of a sensor element resulted from the 'inclination slippage' or 'horizontal slippage' to a first insulator of the sensor element while suppressing the influence on others at a minimum. SOLUTION: This gas sensor comprises the sensor element 2 and a second insulator 12 having an internal space constituted so as to be arranged within an atmospheric-side cover 10 and cover the base end side of the sensor element 2, the insulator 12 being arranged on the base end side of the first insulator 11. The clearance d1, horizontal slippage a and inclination slippage b between the outside surface 120 of the second insulator 12 and the inside surface 100 of the atmospheric-side cover 10 satisfy the relation of a+b<=d1. |
