PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a quenching ratio of an optical fiber greatly lowers before and after the installation of a ferrule. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the ferrule-attached fiber, a ferrule is attached while a pressure is imparted to an optical fiber from the outside to the inside, a spring back phenomenon is thereby caused subsequently on both or either one of the optical fiber and the ferrule, and the optical fiber after the installation of the ferrule maintains a previously given stress distribution. This ferrule-attached fiber is composed of two or more ferrule pieces adjacent in the peripheral direction of the optical fiber.
