SOLUTION: A variable displacement turbo charger 30 as a supercharging pressure adjusting means adjusting a supercharging pressure of air is mounted in a diesel engine 10. The variable capacity turbo charger 30 is provided with the variable vane 36 opening and closing to make flow velocity of exhaust gas in a turbine 32 variable. The variable vane 36 is controlled in accordance with not only operation conditions such as the number of revolutions N of an engine, a fuel injection amount Q, an engine water temperature Tw, a supercharging pressure Pb, atmospheric pressure Pa, atmospheric temperature Ta, etc., but also an opening of an EGR valve 50.
