PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display device which can display a large picture without impairing the picture quality and is small-sized and low-cost. SOLUTION: This picture display device projects images of plural LCDs 5 on a screen 8 and forms one sheet of picture as a whole. This picture display device is further provided with a prism 31 which has incident/reflecting surfaces 31a which are respectively arranged corresponding to the LCDs 5 and confront principal planes of the LCDs 5 which are directed obliquely downward, first mirror surfaces 31b which are composed of free-curved surfaces which obliquely reflect the incident light from the incident/reflecting surfaces 31a, second mirror surfaces 31c which are composed of free-curved surfaces which more obliquely reflect a luminous flux, and a light-emitting surface 31d which emits the luminous flux after totally reflecting the luminous flux more obliquely with the incident/reflecting surfaces 31a, a diaphragm 32 which limits the light emitted from the prism 31, and a concave lense 33 which corrects aberration which remains in the luminous flux passing through the diaphragms 32. |
