PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a lag time, which can not be neglected in calculation, is caused and a lag is made from starting the pressing of a release until opening a shutter, or camera shake in the case of releasing is derived when arithmetic operation is performed by a phase difference detection method in a distance measuring device for camera. SOLUTION: By noticing that a subject distance is almost decided according to the photographing mode of the camera and restricting the arithmetic shift range of phase information for calculating a phase difference, operation time is shortened. If solution is obtained in a restricted range, photographing is performed without the lag time. |
