<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compatibly secure sealing performance and reduce frictional resistance in sealing a clearance gap between the rotor end face and the inner surface of a easing in vene type rotary fluid machinery by a sealing means. SOLUTION: A ring seal 134 stored in an annular groove 131 formed in the inner surface of a rotor chamber is energized toward a rotor 31 by resilient force of an O-ring 133, and steam pressure in the rotor chamber is sealed with a water film 139 held between a sealing surface 136 of the ring seal 134 and the end face 35 of the rotor 31. The depth Dg of the bottom 138 of the annular groove 131 is formed smaller in a high pressure area of the rotor chamber so that the O-ring 133 is strongly compressed to generate large energizing force Fmax. On the other hand, the depth Dg of the bottom of the annular groove 131 is formed larger in a low pressure area of the rotor chamber so that the O-ring 133 is weakly compressed to generate small energizing force Fmin.</p> |
