PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semitransmission reflection type liquid crystal display apparatus with which so called area gradation display can be conducted, where the precision of gradation in transmitting type display is not damaged even when an error is generated in the dimension of opening parts of a reflection film. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display apparatus in which a liquid crystal is interposed between a pair of substrates and which has plural pixels, the pixels are constituted of plural sub dots, each area of which has a prescribed area ratio and reflection films corresponding to respective sub dots are provided on one of the pair of substrates. Then, opening parts having nearly the same shape with respect to the sub dots which constitute one pixel and the number corresponding to the prescribed area ratio are provided in the reflection films corresponding to the respective sub dots which constitute one pixel. |
