PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a film which is excellent in thickness uniformity and smoothness even in a large area and especially to provide a method for producing a film which can be a polarizing film excellent in optical performance with optical spots reduced when it is used for producing a film for a polarizing film. SOLUTION: When a polyvinyl alcohol film (a product film) 9 is produced from a film-making raw material containing polyvinyl alcohol by using a drum film-making machine having at least two drums, when the content of the volatile component of a polyvinyl alcohol film (PVA film) 4 reaches 10-50 wt.%, the polyvinyl alcohol film is peeled off from the drum located on the most upstream side, and the speed ratio V2/V1 between the speed V1 of the drum located on the most upstream side and the speed V2 of the drum located in a process in which the content of the volatile component of the polyvinyl alcohol film is less than 10 wt.% for the first time is adjusted to be 1.0-1.3. |
