PURPOSE: A method for automatically setting a usable menu according to each version in a maintenance program is provided to automatically set the usable menu between an exchange operation program and the maintenance program, to exactly transmit information between the two programs, so that an operator can easily know the usable menu without confirming a version. CONSTITUTION: An operator inputs data requesting a connection to an exchange operation program in a maintenance screen processor(S201). A message processor reads a version information file(S202) to transmit the file to a maintenance program(S203). An interface processor of the maintenance program receives the file(S204). A version confirmation processor analyzes version information transmitted from the interface processor to make a menu list according to a version, and transmits the list to a maintenance manu setup processor(S205). The maintenance menu setup processor processes a new menu list and displays the list on a maintenance menu window(S206). The operator selects a menu and inputs necessary data(S207). The inputted data is transmitted to the message processor(S208). The message processor transmits the data to the exchange operation program(S209). The interface processor of the exchange operation program receives the data(S210) to transmit the data to the message processor. The message processor transmits data necessary for exchange control to an exchange controller, and transmits data used in an exchange to a data processor(S211). The exchange controller controls the exchange(S212). The data processor manages and processes the data used in the exchange(S213).
