PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition timing control device for an internal combustion engine capable of setting an ignition timing at the optimum value with favorable convergence performance in accordance with change of suction characteristics due to change of a cam phase in a uniform combustion mode and a stratified charge combustion mode in a direct injection type internal combustion engine having a cam phase changeable mechanism. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a demand torque determining means 2 to determine a demand torque PMCMD to be outputted by the internal combustion engine 3 based on an engine rotation number NE and an accelerator opening AP, a fuel injection timing determining means 2 to determine a fuel injection timing IJLOGD to a cylinder, a basic ignition timing determining means 2 to determine a basic ignition timing based on the engine rotation number NE and the demand torque PMCMD at the time of the uniform combustion mode, and based on the engine rotation number NE and the fuel ignition timing at the time of the stratified charge combustion mode, and a basic ignition timing correcting means 2 to correct the basic ignition timing in accordance with a cam phase deviation DVTC between an actual cam phase VTCACT and a target cam phase VTCCMD. |
