PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce in size an image forming apparatus, to form a more simple constitution at a low cost by further reducing a number of components and to more stably write an electrostatic latent image. SOLUTION: An insulating layer 28 is provided at a base 3a of a writing unit 3. The layer 28 is contacted with a latent image carrier 2 by a small pressing force by a weak elastic restoring force of the base 3a. Thus, the writing electrode 3b of the unit 3 is approached at a prescribed gap to the latent image carrier 2. The latent electrostatic image is written on the carrier 2 by charging or discharging by the electrode 3b on the carrier 2 set to a uniform charging state by a latent image carrier uniform charging controller 7. The latent image is developed by a developing unit 4, and its developer image is transferred to a transfer material 5 such as paper or the like by a transfer unit 6. Since the electrode 3a is used in the unit 3, the apparatus is reduced in size and simplified. |
