PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering the head of an ink jet recorder, and an ink jet recorder, in which head recovery operation (e.g. head cleaning) of appropriate content can be executed at an appropriate timing even when a transition has been made to power saving mode. SOLUTION: At the time of making a transition to power saving mode, a time measuring means (timer) operable in the power saving mode is set with a time up to a next head recovery operation. An interruption signal is delivered when the time measuring means times out and normal operation mode is reset before a specified head recovery operation is executed. |
