<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the optimum conversion on an image by selecting a table that converts the characteristics of the image in accordance with the attribute of the image. SOLUTION: Firstly, the attribute of the image is inputted from an operating section (S801). Then a parameter is inputted from the operating section in such a way that, when it is considered that the base portion of a character image is largely covered, a strong parameter is inputted and, when it is considered that the base portion is little covered, a weak parameter is inputted (S802). Then the processing is branched based on the attribute of the image inputted in S802. When the image is a test image, an LUT(look-up table) for text image having the intensity corresponding to the parameter inputted in S802 is selected (S804). When the image is a photographed image, on the other hand, another LUT for photographed image having the intensity corresponding to the parameter inputted in S802 is selected (S805).</p> |
