PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction for suspending an optical drop cable for quickly and efficiently performing the drawing down of the cable from an aerial optical wiring network to a house or the like being an object of the drawing down, and to provide a method for drawing down the cable. SOLUTION: The extra length part 10a of an optical drop cable 10 connected to the optical fiber 1 of the aerial optical wiring network is suspended in an extra length suspension part 11 provided on the upper part of an electric pole 3 so as to be taken out from the part 11. The optical cable is drawn to a drawing point 12 at the side of a house 4 by laying the extra length part 10a suspended in the extra length suspension part 11, so that the optical drop cable 10 is attached to an electric drop cable 5 when the optical drop cable 10 is drawn down.
