PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reproducing device and an information display method for displaying a plurality of information in a form which is usable for a user. SOLUTION: Attribute information of video information recorded on an information recording medium such as a DVD disk 2 is obtained. Attribute information on a display system which is set by the attribute information is identified. When the display system is set in a letter box, a valid video area where video information is to be displayed in accordance with the attribute information and an invalid video area which is not originally used for display are set. When character information is supplied from an outer information supply device 21 such as an FM reception tuner receiving FM character multiplex broadcast, video information reproduced from the information recording medium is displayed on the valid video area and character information is displayed in the invalid video area. |
