PURPOSE: To provide a gas isolation switching device isolated by air, capable of downsizing more than conventional ones. CONSTITUTION: In this gas insulated switchgear, dry pressurized air of which pressure is 0.11 to 0.3 MPa as isolating gas and of which water content is < =3,000 ppm (volume ratio of water vapor when the partial pressure of water vapor is converted into 101, 325 Pa) is charged into closed containers 2, 3 for storing switches such as a bus disconnector 22, a breaker 31, a receiving disconnector 32, and a grounding switch 33. An insulation barrier is provided between live parts of the switches and the grounding, and between the live parts.
