PURPOSE: A motor control device in an electronic power steering system is provided to weaken the power steering function for providing the under steer performance, thereby preventing the over steer of a driver on a slippery road and obtaining the stable and safe steering performance. CONSTITUTION: A motor control device in an electronic power steering system includes a torque detection part(2) for detecting a torque size according to a driver's steering, an electronic control unit for braking(4) for outputting electronically controlling braking signals in case of a sudden braking, an electronic control unit for electronic power steering(6) which generates a motor current corresponding to the torque size output from the torque detection part, wherein the motor current is decreased when the electronically controlling braking signal is provided, and an electronic power steering motor(8) to be driven by the motor current provided from the electronic control unit for electronic power steering to help the driver's steering.
