PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically adjust exposure on a high surrounding light condition and a low surrounding light condition in a shutterless single digital camera, with which an image captured by an optical view finder is photographed as it is, without having to use an external liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: Exposure level is automatically set in a step, in which the image captured by an image sensor (34) is subdivided into plural areas, and a binary meaning whether a present surrounding luminance level is a specified gray level for each area is allocated to each area, and it is arrayed within one pointer, and the pointer is pursued to an exposure set level, suitable for the capture of an object image reflecting the present surrounding luminance level. For the low surrounding light condition, image conversion that does not cause delay by a partial transmissible and partial reflection mirror (42) is attained, by moving the mirror (42) to the outside of a main optical path (30). |
