PURPOSE:To produce a pulp mold in high productivity without causing clogging by forming an interconnected filtration layer of agglomerated inorganic or organic particles in a mold base, immersing the base in a pulp slurry containing a flocculent and sucking the slurry through the filtration layer. CONSTITUTION:Glass or ceramic particles mixed with an epoxy resin is filled and agglomerated in a metallic mold base l to form filtration layers 2, 3 having prescribed shape such as a cup, hemisphere or zigzag cross-section composed of three layers communicating from the top face to the reverse face and consisting of the top layer, the intermediate layer and the bottom layer having pore size of 0.01-0.2mm, 0.1-0.4mm and 0.3-2.0mm, respectively. The mold base 1 having the filtration layers 2, 3 formed on the inner face is immersed in a paper stock liquid tank 5 holding a pulp slurry containing aluminum sulfate or aluminum polychloride as a flocculent and the slurry is sucked through the layers to obtain a prescribed pulp mold. An organic substance such as rigid plastic may be used as a substitute for the inorganic particle. |
