PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided which prevents quality defects of a large amount of products by sensing whether a temperature of a strip to be hot rolled is normally transmitted, thereby promptly informing a device monitor of transmission abnormality, and switching to back-up system when there is something wrong with the transmission. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for monitoring transmission of a temperature of a strip to be hot rolled which comprises a thermometer(B) detecting a temperature of the strip to be rolled(A), a processor(C) converting and processing detected signals of the thermometer(B) and an isolator(D) providing a processor computer(E) with the converted voltage signals by converting output signals of the processor(C) into voltage signals, and which is applied to an apparatus for detecting the temperature of the strip to be hot rolled, the apparatus for monitoring transmission of the temperature of the strip to be hot rolled comprises a transmission detector comprising a photo coupler photo coupling the output signals of the isolator(D), and a relay which is acted by output signals of the photo coupler so as to provide with contact point signals; and a distribution control system actuating an inner timer when temperature signals are inputted from the processor(C), judging whether or not the contact point signals are inputted from the transmission detector before a lapse time of the timer passes a set time, and alarming transmission abnormality and switching to a back-up system when the contact point signals are not inputted from the transmission detector within the set time.
