PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a Nb-added austenitic stainless steel with improved grain boundary corrosion resistance is provided. CONSTITUTION: The manufacture method of a Nb-added austenitic stainless steel includes the steps of hot rolling a steel slab comprising C 0.08 wt.% or less, Cr 17-19 wt.%, Ni 9-13 wt.%, Si 1.0 wt.% or less, Mn 2.0 wt.% or less, Nb 1.0 wt.% or less, and Nb 10xC wt.% or more, a balance of Fe and other inevitable impurities; heat treating the steel sheet within the temperature range of from {7510/(2.96-log(Nb)-log(C))}-273°C to {6120/(3.693-log(C))}-273°C for more than 20 minutes; and cooling.
