<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which matches a 1st waveguide on a 1st wafer with a 2nd waveguide on a 2nd wafer. SOLUTION: Adaptive type imaging devices 601 and 602 are used on both 1st and 2nd waveguides 502 and 503 where 1st and 2nd wafers 500 and 501 are arranged crossing each other at right angles. The imaging device as an example is arranged in an input plane array and an output plane array abutting against each other at right angles to constitute N×N optical cross connections. Thus, the adaptive imaging device is built in the input plane array and output plane array and then an input tree and an output tree are directly connected to eliminate the need for accurate matching.</p> |
