METHOD FOR CLEANING SURFACE OF CASTING ROLLS IN CONTINUOUS STRIP CASTER

PURPOSE: A method for cleaning the surface of casting rolls in a continuous strip caster is provided to substantially improve quality of a metal strip by floating shot balls during casting to remove black coat on the surface of the casting rolls, thereby cleanly maintaining the surface of the casting rolls. CONSTITUTION: In a method for continuously manufacturing a thin strip by injecting molten metal into a space between two casting rolls(2) using a continuous strip caster comprising two rolls, the method for cleaning the surface of the casting rolls in the continuous strip caster comprises the steps of positioning a black coat remover(8) comprising a shot ball chamber(20), an air distributor(30) mounted into the chamber(20) and an air supplying unit(35) supplying air through the air distributor(30) at the bottom of the casting rolls(2); positioning shot balls having an average diameter of 0.2 to 2.0 mm into the shot ball chamber(20) on the upper part of the air distributor(30); and removing black coat formed on the surface of the casting rolls by supplying air onto the air distributor(30) in a pressure of 2 to 12 bars so as to float the shot balls by the air supplying unit(35).
