PURPOSE: A method for diagnosing troubles in a thermocouple for a vehicle is provided to determine whether the thermocouple is out of order without a separate device. CONSTITUTION: A method for diagnosing troubles in a thermocouple for a vehicle comprises the steps of; calculating a cool water temperature and intake temperature from a cool water temperature sensor and intake temperature sensor during the starting of an engine at an electrically controlled vehicle comprising a cooling system with a thermocouple, respectively(ST22); calculating the variation time of water temperature according to the calculated cool water temperature and intake temperature(ST23); detecting the water temperature variation from an attainable point of a first threshold temperature determined according to the calculated variation time of the water temperature; and determining that the thermocouple is normal when the cool water temperature rises according to a variation diagram after the drop of the cool water temperature and determining that the thermocouple is out of order when the cool water temperature continuously rises(ST 24¯32).
