PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store compressed gas (such as fuel gas for an electric motor car fed from a fuel cell) especially for transportation. SOLUTION: A device comprises at least one high-pressure type gas container with an exit pipe connected to a means for securing a flow-out adjusted to be shut off (the gas is in the gaseous phase inside the container within the pressure range from about 40 to 250 bars, preferably from 50 to 200 bars and within the temperature range from about 15 to 210 deg.K, preferably from 20 to 200 deg.K) and a heat insulating envelope in which the container is disposed.
