PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform cleaning and generation of a drive signal depending on the kind of ink in a printer ejecting different kinds of ink from one nozzle by replacing an ink cartridge. SOLUTION: Cartridges 71 and 72 are provided, respectively, with ink memories 71m and 72m storing ink parameter data IP. When these cartridges are fixed to the cartridge fixing section of a printer 20, the ink parameter data IP is read out from the ink memories 71m and 72m. Based on parameters PD, Tc1, Tc2, Cs, Cp, Cw, Ts1, and the like, the system controller of the printer 20 determines a suitable cleaning sequence for each kind of ink. |
