PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range finding device capable of providing a stable range finding output with a small capacitor regardless of power source voltage by boosting the voltage during the drive of a steady light removing circuit and stopping the boosting during the drive of projection and integration. SOLUTION: The voltage of a power source battery is boosted by a DC/DC converter 7 to charge a backup capacitor CB, and electricity is fed to at least a part of circuits of this range finding with the backup capacitor CB as power source. A projecting element 1 and the DC/DC converter 7 are controlled by a CPU 6, and each set value is stored therein. The operation of the DC/DC converter 7 is prohibited during the operation of the projecting element 1 by the CPU 6, and the range finding operation is performed in a projection frequency as the operation of the projecting element 1 is ended before the voltage of the backup capacitor CB is below the voltage of the power source battery. The range finding error caused by a voltage drop during the prohibition of the operation of the DC/DC converter 7 is corrected with a correction value set in the CPU 6. |
