PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem due to the fact that when a master station monitors or controls its communication state with slave stations, a monitoring or control sequence is performed for each slave station and that, when especially the number of the slave stations is increased, the time required for a series of monitoring or control sequences is increased. SOLUTION: The satellite communication system is provided with the master station capable of being connected to a satellite communication line via a communication satellite, and a plurality of slave stations connected to the master station by the satellite communication line. By the master station, monitoring data used to monitor its communication state with the slave stations via the satellite communication line is transmitted by multicasting service to all of the plurality of slave stations. On the basis of the existence of a response to the monitoring data from the slave stations, the soundness of the communication state with the slave stations is confirmed. |
