PURPOSE: An apparatus for inputting alphabets on a keypad and a method therefor are provided to conveniently input the alphabets on the keypad. CONSTITUTION: Various functions are selected by more alternate combinations of buttons on which vowel elements 'eu' and 'i' are arranged of a line shape of Hangul. The more alternate combinations of buttons on which vowel elements of a dot shape of Hangul are arranged are performed for inputting various functions. Alphabets with the most use frequency are designated representative alphabets of each group among a plurality of alphabets arranged on each button.
