PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooler for automobile for developing good energy efficiency and required cooling ability even in vehicle stop or traffic jam. SOLUTION: The cooler comprises a fuel tank 1 for reserving a liquefied fuel to be consumed in a vaporized state during travel, a heat exchanger 4 for cooling a room utilizing the heat of vaporization of the fuel in the fuel tank 1, a compressor 6 for compressing and liquefying the fuel vaporized in the heat exchanger 4 and returning it to the fuel tank 1, a compressor control part (part of the function of a controller 11) for automatically operating the compressor 6 if the fuel is less consumed, a secondary battery 23, a fuel cell 21 for generating power by consuming the fuel, a charger (part of the functions of a DC/DC converter 22 and the controller 11) for charging the power generated by the fuel cell 21 to the secondary battery 23.
