PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aluminum foil and its manufacturing method capable of having a highly wide range of use without necessitating any limitation of its composition and its manufacturing method and also considerably decreasing generation of pinholes. SOLUTION: In the aluminum foil F having less than 10μm of thickness, the aluminum foil provides a lot of ridge-shaped convex portions B extending along a rolling direction on a rolled surface that is rolled by coming into direct contact with a work roll R. More than 90% of the ridge-shaped convex portions in the aluminum foil are defined to be the height hB with more than 0.05μm, the width wB with 1 to 10μm, the length with more than 0.5 mm, and further the distance dB of the adjacent ridge- shaped convex portions B with less than 100μm. In the manufacturing method of the aluminum foil F, a lot of groove-shaped concave portions D extending along a rotating direction of the work roll R are provided in the whole roll surface of the work roll R. Finishing foil rolling of the aluminum foil is performed by means of the work roll R having more than 90% of the groove-shaped concave portions D, which are defined to be the depth hD with more than 0.05μm, the width wD with 1 to 10μm, the length with more than 0.5μm, and further the distance dB of the adjacent groove-shaped concave portions D with less than 100μm.
