PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved dual battery pack hooking/fixing device assembled in a portable tool. SOLUTION: This battery pack hooking/fixing attaching device is provided with a battery case 212, a cell pack 214 arranged inside the battery case, a battery cap 222, and a spacer 224 interposed between the cell pack and the battery cap along its longitudinal direction. The first latch element 232 or a detent is attached to the spacer, and the second latch element 236 or a detent is attached to the battery cap. The first latch element is engaged fixedly with a single opening formed in a sidewall portion of a tool housing socket to fix a battery pack in an OFF position. The second latch element is engaged with a single opening formed in a sidewall of the tool housing socket to fix the battery pack in an ON position.
