PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To re-start a microprocessor (CPU) after assuring a normal operation when the microprocessor incorporated in an on-vehicle electronic device is run away. SOLUTION: This controller for vehicle comprises a large number of on- vehicle loads 6a and 6b driven by the CPU 10 and a watchdog timer 12 monitoring the operation of the CPU 10, resetting the CPU 10 when an error occurs for re-starting, and a storage element 16a for storing the occurrence of an reset output. Load drive elements 15a and 18a or a load relay 7 is made inoperative by an output from the storage element 16a. The storage element 16a is reset by cutting out or re-turning on a power supply switch to return the on-vehicle electronic device to a normal condition. |
