PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjustor having a simple structure for adjusting the longitudinal position of a seat with simple operation. SOLUTION: The adjustor comprises rails 14 longitudinally directed on a seat plate mounting bracket 7 on a chair supporting base 2 for slidably guiding the left and right lower portions of a seat plate 18, first engaging portions 21 provided under the seat plate 18, first portions to be engaged 15 provided on the seat plate mounting bracket 7 to be vertically and elastically engaged with the first engaging portions 21 at a plurality of positions arranged in the longitudinal direction of the seat plate 18, a second engaging portion 23 provided under the flexible portion of the seat plate 18, which flexible portion is downwardly bent elastically by the weight of a person sitting thereon, and a second portion to be engaged 13b provided on the seat plate mounting bracket 7 at a position confronted with the flexible portion. The second portion to be engaged 13b can be vertically engaged with the second engaging portion 23 at a plurality of positions arranged in the longitudinal direction of the seat plate 18 as the flexible portion thereof is downwardly bent elastically by the weight of the person sitting thereon.
