PURPOSE: A rapid flocculation and sedimentation method for water treatment and apparatus therefor are provided, which are characterized in that assistant coagulant injected into rapid flocculation tank is separated and recovered by horizontal cyclone, then injected again into the rapid flocculation tank. Therefore, external reinjection of assistant coagulant is not necessary. CONSTITUTION: Influent wastewater via an inlet(101) flows into a coagulation tank(103) through an inlet channel(102). And neutralization agent and coagulant are injected into the coagulation tank(103). Then wastewater is mixed with assistant coagulant in a rapid flocculation tank(104). Micro floc produced in the rapid flocculation tank(104) is grown to be macro floc in an aging tank(105). Floc produced in the aging tank(105) is settled in a rapid sedimentation tank(106). And sludge settled in a sludge collection pit(107) is discharged by a pump(108). The assistant coagulant is separated and recovered from discharged sludge in a horizontal cyclone(109). Recovered assistant coagulant is recycled into the rapid flocculation tank(104).
