PURPOSE: A method for measuring a thickness of a bill of an automatic teller machine is provided to improve an accuracy of operating of the teller machine by accurately discriminating a discharge condition of each bill on the basis of calculated standard bill thickness data. CONSTITUTION: The method for measuring a thickness of a bill of an automatic teller machine comprises a first step for measuring a thickness of each bill discharged from a bill reservoir to accumulate bill thickness data; a second step for renewing predetermined standard bill thickness data on the basis of an average value and maximum and minimum values about the accumulated bill thickness; and a third step for discriminating whether a discharge condition of the bill is normal or abnormal by comparing the renewed standard bill thickness data with the discharged bill thickness data. |
