PURPOSE: Provided is a method for successively and stably producing tetracyclododecenes(TCD) in a long term by using inexpensive crude dicyclopentadiene(DCPD). CONSTITUTION: The method for successively producing TCD represented by formula 3, comprises the following steps of (i) to (iv), and (v), and a step of removing a part of 2-methyl-2-norbornenes represented by formula 4 of obtained reaction mixture, from a reaction system: (i) successively feeding 2-norbornenes of formula 1, crude cyclopentadiene, and/or dicyclopentadiene, and olefin of formula 2 in a reactor, and reacting the reactants to form a reaction mixture, (ii) isolating 2-norbornenes from the reaction mixture, by distillation, (iii) cycling at least a part of the isolated 2-norbornenes to the reactor, and (iv) isolating tetracyclododecenes from the reaction mixture. In the formulas, R1 and R2 are the same or different group, and represent any one of hydrogen atom, methyl group, or ethyl group.
