SUBSTANCE: invention relates to solid-fuel heat sources, which can be used as lighting-up means for cooking and heating under domestic, field, railway transport, and industrial conditions. Lighting-up means contains solid-fuel substrate with outside coating layer (kindling layer). The former is made from charcoal fraction between 0.5 and 10 cm and the latter is solid paraffin impregnated with liquid oil fraction C10- C13 and/or C14-C17. Thickness of coating layer follows from condition of 200- 500 g paraffin per 1.5-3.0 kg charcoal. To coating layer, aromatizing substances can be added.
