PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle easily grasping a range from the present value to a preset value set in a setting means. SOLUTION: A pointer 14 has an indicating part 20. A pointer drive means turns the pointer 14 in accordance with a physical amount. A display element 13 has a first display part 17 indicated by the indicating part 20 and a plurality of second display parts 41 arranged in circular arc shape in the vicinity of the first display part 17. A control means turns on the second display part 41 corresponding to a range from the present value of the physical amount to a preset value set in a setting means and turns off the other second display part 41. The display element 13 is a hot matrix type having a pair of translucent substrates and a transparent electrode film of stripe shape respectively formed in the translucent substrate.
