PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an effective synthesized tone using such 'tone' as to express the meanings of the omnomatopoeia or mimetic word included in a text from this text for speech synthesis. SOLUTION: An omnomatopoeia/mimetic word analyzing section 21 extracts the omnomatopoeia or mimetic work from the text and an omnomatopoeia/ mimetic word processing section 27 forms the acoustic data of the effective tones corresponding to the omnomatopoeia or mimetic word. A speech fusing section 26 superposes the acoustic data formed by the omnomatopoeia/mimetic word processing section 27 to part or the whole of the synthesized tone data corresponding to the text.
