PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a deterioration in exhaust emissions such as smoke generation by controlling the travel of a nozzle vane properly especially even in an engine transient state, in a control system for a variable displacement turbocharger. SOLUTION: The control system for a variable displacement turbocharger comprises an EGR device 19, an intake air quantity detecting means 6 for detecting an intake air quantity, an EGR valve travel estimating means 6 for estimating valve travel of an EGR valve 19, a limit travel deciding means 100 for deciding limit travel of the EGR valve 19 to a closing side, and a nozzle vane travel controlling means 100 for controlling nozzle vane travel of a variable displacement turbocharger 7 so that the limit EGR vale travel and actual EGR valve travel become equal. |
