PURPOSE: A method for controlling the idle of an engine is provided to prevent the drop of an engine rpm caused by the trouble of an intake flow sensor when the engine is in idle state. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the idle of an engine comprises the steps of: determining whether the engine is in idle state(S130); determining the state of fuel injection amount(S140); determining whether a vehicle is in a flatland if the fuel injection amount is less than a predetermined value(S150); and performing an error compensating mode and outputting a fuel injection control signal(S160).
