PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorber on the side of a vehicle, capable of coping with shock from various directions with a smaller number of energy absorbers. SOLUTION: This energy absorber has at least a substantially circular first projecting part 10 projected from the cabin inside wall surface on the side of the vehicle toward the outside of the cabin, and a substantially elliptical second projecting part 11 projected further from the first projecting part 10 toward the outside of the cabin. An easily broken part 12 having a crank-like section is formed between the first projecting part 10 and the second projecting part 11 so that the second projecting part 11 can be moved to the inside of the cabin. The apex 11a of the second projecting part 11 positioned on the outermost side of the cabin is formed spherical.
