PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified unit for efficiently manufacturing suture threads with a needle and cutting them into an accurate size. SOLUTION: After a transfer chuck 42 that holds a suture thread Y is linearly transferred just as much a distance as a target size of the suture thread toward a needle caulking unit 20, the suture thread Y is cut at a specified region and inserted into a hole for the suture thread at a rear end of the needle and stopped by the needle caulking unit 20. Further, this unit is equipped with a means 43 for coating a hardening agent to harden a specified hardening portion adjacent to the above cutting site of the suture thread Y prior to the cutting after the suture thread Y is pulled out, a means 44 for drying the hardening agent that dries the coated hardening agent by the means 43 for coating the hardening agent and a means for integrally moving the hardening agent coating means and the hardening agent drying means within the above specified hardening region toward a longitudinal direction of the suture thread. |
